Sam Lowe on Dig BMX

Our boy Sam has an interview over on the Dig magazine website, check it out here. He tells a story in it about a stolen bike which sounds pretty scary and James Steele gives him a pretty solid reference in it as well.

Old timers

Chris Young and I went to Bonsor Pipeline in Burnaby to get a bit of riding in and to work a few (alot) of the winter cob webs out.
This is a no bikes park, but we are as old as the crusty old school skaters and they don't seem to confrontational, and we always have a good time there.

One night at the Warehouse

I figured it was about time to actually try out my new camera and see how it worked. Word to the wise, if you're planning on buying a Canon HG-10, the .mts files it records in are a bitch to work with. Nice camera, though. Got a few things done, so I threw together a lil edit. Hope you guys like it.

wOODwARD wEEKeND

A few friends and I were off to Woodward for the weekend, I had no idea that there would be a massive southern Ontario presence there when I arrived. After everyone was settled in to where they would be staying either at the lodge on Woodward grounds or the Inn a few minute drive down the road from Woodward. So as the kid inside took over, everyone raced over to the nearest indoor park to get riding. The days were pretty much filled with lots of different riding. Everyone road everything which was good to see people who road the rails and flat banks were also huckin into the foam trying new aerials and I followed suit.

It was weird to see all us Canadians dropping like flies. It seemed as if the long winters took its toll on us and we were not in shape to make it through a Woodward weekend, haha. after the first day I had a horrible pulled muscle in my left arm and lots of others had their own issues from whiplash to sprained ankles. Everyone was kept in good spirits though, which I was glad to see. We were in such good spirit that the last night there all the dudes from the lodge wanted to drive over to the Inn to mess around with the other Canadians staying there. So we packed a van with about 10 people and we were off! No plan is sight just a bunch of random ideas getting thrown in the air as to what we were going to do...So we get to the Inn and decide to walk right in and someone decided to start a shoe throwing fest and screaming "were coming back" as to scare the people staying at the Inn thinking that someone was coming back in the night to do something, it was weird but whatever. As all that went on something hit the ground and shattered so we all jumped back in the van and boogied out of there.

Everything turned out fine, nothing went wrong and we got away without getting into trouble. It made for some funny conversation that night and the next morning though. Some look at Woodward as a place of dreams or a training facility to progress their riding, in some ways I guess it is both of those but I see it as a place to have fun with friends, meet new ones and come home with lots of new memories.

Awesome Weekend

Me and my friend Chris Geistlinger went to Nelson to ride the indoor on saturday for the day/night. Had a real fun session saturday and a quick one on sunday before we headed back to kelowna. About 45 min into the drive home we hit some black ice on a corner, started drifting across the road, front end went into the ditch, slid for a tiny bit then it caught in the deep snow and flung the truck into a half front flip/barrel role kinda thing. We landed directly upside down, in the ditch, on the wrong side of the road pointing the wrong way. I've never rolled a vehicle before so it was a pretty sweet ride. Once we realized we were both totally fine, we just stared laughing. None of the stuff we had with us got wrecked. Chris had a laptop in the truck that was just sitting in the back during the crash and nothing happend to it. I had a video camera in there too and it was all good. Our bikes were in the box of the truck and they seem to be ok, haven't looked at mine to close yet but it seems alright. Chris' landed beside the truck kinda but mine was buried deep in the snow directly under the box. It took almost 2 hours for a tow truck to come and get us, which kinda sucked. Overall though we got away super lucky. The truck was completely written off, but us and all our stuff were fine.
